Buying a house? Am I crazy?

Hey all--yes, the title is true--we are thinking about (not very seriously at all, just curiously) buying a house--with Keith being gone.  It's all fueled by my impatience with the noisiness of this apartment, and my impeccable ability to fine "the perfect house." (three times now).  So, I guess we need advice as this isnt something either of us has done.  We haven't done anything yet-no mortgage approval, or anything and are literally dabbling in the idea.  But, we have found a house that we really really love and are getting more and more serious about working out the details.  Does anyone have advice?  Here are some pics :)  Tell me what you think!

Oh, I love the house! It is a wonderful thing having your own home but there is a whole other level of commitment. Other than the payments, you have to fix everything on your own! That could be a lot with the man of the house gone, but then again, God's timing is best. Go with God!

Ok - so let's look at some important questions:

How long are you staying in this area? Is the house resaleable or will it be a burden around your neck? What are costs of home owning versus renting? Is that kitchen big enough? I like the house and it looks great and no you are not crazy to be thinking about buying. It will be an investment in your future as opposed to renting is just money gone....Remember Dan can do plumbing, a/c, heating, gasline stuff....and we work very cheap.
